Canada PR Points Calculator

Understand how your education, age, language ability, work experience and other factors may affect your eligibility and ranking for Canadian permanent residence pathways.

How Canada PR Points Work

Canada uses different points and selection systems depending on the immigration program. For Express Entry, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) ranks eligible candidates in the pool. The Federal Skilled Worker Program also uses a separate 67-point selection grid to determine program eligibility.
Because these two scoring systems serve different purposes, a Canada PR Points Calculator should not treat them as the same thing. ICG Globe helps you understand which points system applies to your situation and what your score means before you prepare a permanent residence application.

Official IRCC CRS Calculator: Use the Government of Canada tool to calculate your Comprehensive Ranking System score β€” Check your CRS score on Canada.ca (IRCC).
If you are assessing Express Entry ranking specifically, start with the official CRS tool above. The Federal Skilled Worker 67-point grid is a separate eligibility test and is not the same as CRS.

FAQS

Canada PR Points Calculator Questions

Are Canada PR points and CRS points the same?

+

No. Express Entry uses the CRS for ranking candidates, while programs such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program use their own eligibility criteria and selection factors. We explain which calculation applies to your case.

How can I improve my Canada PR points?

+

Depending on your profile, options may include improving language results, gaining eligible work experience, completing additional education, or exploring a qualifying provincial nomination. The best option depends on your individual circumstances.

Do I need IELTS to calculate my Canada PR points?

+

You can estimate your profile before taking a language test, but a Canadian immigration application normally requires an approved language test where the program requires one. We can model different score scenarios for you.

Does an Educational Credential Assessment increase my PR points?

+

An ECA can be required to establish the Canadian equivalency of eligible foreign education and may be necessary to claim education-related points under applicable programs. It does not automatically add points by itself.

Can I qualify for Canada PR without a job offer?

+

Some Canadian permanent residence pathways do not require a job offer. Eligibility depends on the program, your profile and the requirements in force when you apply.
