Your language score can make or break your CRS points, your OINP eligibility, or your study permit approval. We coach for the test you're actually taking, not a generic English or French class.
| Situation | Recommended Test |
|---|---|
| Express Entry or PNP, wanting flexibility | IELTS General Training or CELPIP General |
| Applying to a Canadian college or university | IELTS Academic, PTE Academic or TOEFL iBT |
| Targeting French-language CRS points or OINP streams | TEF Canada or TCF Canada |
| Preferring a fully computer-based test | PTE Academic or CELPIP |
| Needing results in a very short timeframe | PTE Academic, fastest turnaround for results |
We assess your current level across all four skills before building a single lesson plan.
We build a plan around your target score and the timeline you’re working with.
We coach each section using the actual scoring criteria the test uses, not generic grammar classes.
We run full-length, timed mock tests so exam-day conditions feel familiar, not stressful.
If a retake is needed, we tell you honestly what to fix and how long that realistically takes.
Neither test inherently gives more points, IELTS and CELPIP General scores are converted to the same Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) scale, so a CLB 9 from either test earns identical CRS points. The right choice usually comes down to which test format suits you better.
It depends heavily on your starting point and which skill is holding you back, but most focused candidates see meaningful improvement in four to eight weeks of structured practice, especially in Writing and Speaking, which tend to be the hardest sections to move.
Not necessarily easier, just different, PTE is fully computer-based and scores are generated partly by AI, which some candidates find less stressful than a face-to-face IELTS speaking test. We help you choose based on your strengths, not general opinions online.
If you’re targeting OINP’s French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, or want additional CRS points for French ability, TEF Canada or TCF Canada is worth it even alongside an English test. We’ll tell you if it actually moves the needle for your specific application.
We review your section-wise breakdown, identify exactly what cost you points, and build a focused retake plan rather than just repeating the same preparation. Most candidates who retake with a targeted plan see a real improvement in their weak section.
